Despite the ongoing pandemic, our local children will still be going to back to school later this summer in some fashion, and they will still need the materials and supplies to help them throughout the year!  In fact, because of the economic downtown, our support is needed even more.  That's why the the Downtown Management District (DMD) is proud to partner once again with Sacred Heart Church on a backpack and school supply drive benefiting school age children in the Segundo Barrio and neighboring communities.

To keep everybody safe, this year will be different. Rather than collecting actual supplies and having an in person distribution day, we're:

1.  Only monetary donations will be accepted.  Click on the green "Register Now" button to make a monetary contribution of $5 or more. We'll be collecting money now, through August 2, 2020 August 16, 2020.  You can also mail a contribution to the DMD office at 201 E. Main, Suite 107, El Paso, TX 79901.

2.  We've partnered with a number of local non-profits who will distribute the backpacks directly to those in need. Those organizations include: Sacred Heart Church, the Center for Family Violence, the Lee & Beulah Moor Children's Home, and Operation Hope.

Our goal this year is to provide 800 backpacks w/ supplies ($20,000)!  Your generosity is extremely important and appreciated.  Together we'll help make sure that our local school children have the resources they need to start the school year!

Special thanks to Emajj Public Relations and Marketing for thier support and involvement in this important effort!
